I've got WinRAR activated on my computer, but I didn't pay for it nor am I using a cracked version.
Sure, activating the software won't do much difference, but it lets you get rid of the annoying ass popups.
And yes, I know there's freeware such as 7zip, [...], but WinRAR is the most popular.
