Did they just see something break somewhere high and just be like "well, can't fix that"? Or did they pile up rocks til they were able to reach what they wanted to reach? Who was the first person to figure out ladders, did they just come along and say "Yo this fucking sucks why don't we just put some pieces of wood together and like climb them"?
