I've noticed in nearly all of these duos, the man does everything from the production, song writing, and instrumentation (with some session instrumentalists when need be) while the women just does singing, performing and general "mcing" and some lyric writing but nothing beyond that. In live shows with these duos the dude is behind the female partner singing.
This is common in electronic music and also in pop music as well as r&b and hip hop. I have seen some people heavily criticize this standard and say it needs to be torn down. I have also seen others say this is just natural as music production is generally more attractive to men while women would be more Interested in singing and performing (still a 50/50 split in this field)
What's your opinion on this and is there anyone with strong feelings on this trend in music.
