I haven't heard of any Uber referral services actually selling cracked referrals, not sure if possible, but the ones you buy are actually legit referrals.
In countries like India, Bangladesh, etc, Uber bikes are rented for ~$0.25 with new accounts, using your referral code. The vendor employs tens of people that actually go out and do 15-25 referrals a day (this part actually takes a lot of time). So with management costs, wages, $0.25 initial investment, you're referrals end up being $1-3 depending on who you buy from.
