The attack, , is a new variant of the "https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ne...ou-into-running-malicious-powershell-scripts/" tactic that has become https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ne...alicious-powershell-scripts-as-windows-fixes/ among threat actors to distribute malware https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ne...-conference-errors-push-infostealing-malware/.
However, instead of being fixes for common errors, this variant pretends to be a captcha or verification system that users must run to join the channel.
Last month, researchers from Guardio Labs and Infoblox researchers https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ne...ush-lumma-infostealer-via-fake-captcha-pages/ that utilized CAPTCHA verification pages that prompt users to run PowerShell commands to verify they are not a bot.
