Stolen Laptop and GPS/Location hardware bypass?

Hi there, I have a question, my idiotic friend stole a Laptop lol, this one:

Anyways, my question is do these laptops come with HARDWARE GPS DEVICES in them? In other words, is it safe to boot it and just turn off GPS/Location in Device Manager?
Or does it need hardware removal as well -_- ?
