Okay so KitchenAid must be easy as hell to SE as long as you have the model number and serial number of the product you want. The model number is public so the only hard part is getting a serial.
My story:
So I bought a https://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-K...d=1548969626&sr=1-5&keywords=kitchenaid+mixer as a Christmas gift and the motor was fucked up from the first use. I originally bought this on Amazon but for replacements you need to contact KitchenAid directly. I opened up their live chat and told them I had this issue. They asked for my address, model number, and serial number. As far as the address goes, I don't think they ask as a form of verification. Like I said, I purchased the item on Amazon and it's more than likely the item came from their warehouses and not KitchenAid's. That being said, I don't see why KitchenAid themselves would have my address on record.
They asked what was wrong with the item and I told the representative my actual issue and they immediately said they would process a replacement. Didn't even ask for the original item back. I also told them the intended recipient is located at a different address than where the original product was sent. They asked for the recipient's address and then messaged me back a couple minutes later with an order number. The model I have is currently on back order so I won't have shipping for a while but you will get an email with tracking once it's sent out!
End result:
Yes I contacted KitchenAid with an IRL issue but this is what you could come away with if you were to try and SE their products:
