Residents of Russia have complained about the ban on downloading drivers for video cards from the NVIDIA website. Messages about this appeared on social networks, as reported by the TASS agency.
The DTF editorial review confirmed that the drivers are not downloaded either from the official NVIDIA website or through the company's video card application. When attempting to do so, a message appears in the browser about access being denied: "Access Forbidden. This request has been blocked by Edgecast WAF". According to the warning text, the request is blocked by the firewall.
If you use a VPN with an IP address from another country, drivers can be downloaded without restrictions.
According to reviews , there is also a restriction on downloading drivers in Belarus.
It is unknown what the problem is related to. NVIDIA did not give any comments on this matter. It is possible that the limitation appeared automatically.
The TechPowerUp website regularly posts drivers for NVIDIA video cards on its servers. Those who wish can download updates for their graphics accelerators from it. The current driver version at the time of writing is 566.03 WHQL. It also adds support for Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
