Who else is anticipating a release from Rockstar games to port the popular game to PC? It never came with RDR1 but graphics weren't "superb" on the PC in 2010, but that probably won't stop Rockstar from giving us our fan-favorite second installment to the original game. So far, there hasn't been any word about when (or if) Rockstar will bring the game to the PC community. If a decision is made soon, I'd bet it would be at least 6 months to a year until we see an official port on the PC (going by GTA5's LATE release to PC gamers).
New consoles like the Xbox One X and the PlayStation 4 Pro can easily play the newest Red Dead game no problem, but the framerate is probably locked somewhere around 30-45 fps with V-Sync always on. It's no surprise that the game is a hit right now with the superb graphics on both consoles. Console's have really come a long way since the original 2010 release of Red Dead, but even though many console players are satisfied with the current specs in the new consoles, it still is FAR off from the specs of a mid-range PC (GTX 1070, i7-8700K). PC players can also customize many of their graphic settings where console players are very limited. The performance of the standard gaming PC to the new consoles will always be one step ahead.
With that said, it would be a very good idea for Rockstar to bring Red Dead Redemption 2 to the PC platform. Not only will it have stunning graphics running at 2K or 4K, but it would also be a gold mine, given the popularity of the game right now and how successful the PC launch of GTA5 was.
