Pump and dump shitcoins

Hey guys, I was just wondering is there any pump and dump groups that operate more on hype rather than just massively buying coins ? By that I mean going to reddit, twitter and other forums promoting a crypto for at least a few hours before dumping. Most pump and dumps last only a few seconds whitch is pointless as no normal person (outside of the pumping group) have any time to buy a coin meaning that any gains from such operation is just a redistribution inside the pump group. If there is no such group, why ? It is certanly possible (dogecoin, gamestop..ect)
