problems in an internal scan - help

I'm performing an analysis to an internal infrastructure, in the user network, but I don't recognize many assets scanning, could it be that they have network segmentation and I only have access to a part? supposedly I should get firewalls, access points, servers, but I don't get anything, what could be happening?
