Hello, today i will be showing step by step how to install Kali Linux. This tutorial very beginner friendly and its completely free. Remember to leave a like and dont leech. Lets get started.
So what is kali linux:
Kali linux is a version of Linux that is made for security penetration testing and that lets us use the tools that it offers for cracking. When you install kali linux tools like SQLmap and hashcat already come installed.
How are we going to install kali linux?:
We are going to use a free program called “VMware Workstation 15 player”. It basically lets you run Virtual Machines on Windows. You can also use VMware for installing VM’s like Ubuntu and CentOS.
So let's get started with how to install Kali Linux now:
Let's start by downloading the Kali Linux Software. Simply go to this website (https://www.offensive-security.com/kali-linux-vm-vmware-virtualbox-image-download/) and choose between 32 or 64 bit version. (https://gyazo.com/9eaadb26041819aea39ff1783c7d6c6a) I'm going to install the 64x bit version.
Step 2:
Now while its downloading we are going to install VMware Workstation. Just go to this website (https://www.vmware.com/products/workstation-player/workstation-player-evaluation.html)
and press the big blue button that says “Try Workstation 15.5 player for Windows”. (https://gyazo.com/043d3b848967e59e6e90351841bf1620)
When you have successfully installed VMware it should look like this (https://gyazo.com/0fb06ea9c9d34bd4560a1cd78ff72dab) ( Dont mind the Windows and CentOS)
Step 3:
Now we are almost done. Now we need to extract Kali Linux .zip file. Open “Windows Explorer” and go to “C:\Users\[USER]\Documents\Virtual Machines”. Open the Kali Linux zip file and move the folder called “Kali-Linux-2020.1-vmware-amd64” to Virtual Machines folder.

Step 4:
This is the final step. Now when you have done all the steps above open VMware Workstation again and press the button that says “Open a Virtual Machine” (https://gyazo.com/b1b39415fabfdfc21e53696379d0a223)
Now open the kali linux folder and choose the .VMX file. (https://gyazo.com/b9c53f1d9e88c435973dfc083f62ab93)
You should now see kali linux as a VM machine. It should look like this: (https://gyazo.com/ac8cbef8c7f089a67f099167ed602a6e)
Now you are done, if you wish to edit the hardware just press the “Edit Virtual Machine Settings”.
Go ahead and start the VM and let it boot and when it's done you should see a login screen that looks like this: (https://gyazo.com/c7c6e9df6bc62e90cbb86458c952282d).For username enter: “kali” and for password enter: “kali” and now you have succesfuly installed Kali Linux.
This guide took me so long to write so please leave a like and feedback. If you need help with any of the steps just go ahead and write a comment and i'll respond as soon as possible.
