Newbie Here/Questions for beginning wow

Hi folk!!! I just started and really enjoying warcraft 3 for the first time. (I know you are all jealous, shame is my own I'm 27 years old and always skipped this game for some reason) So I want to play world of warcraft after this. But since forever I never liked the idea of MMO, PVP, and grinding (doing the same thing over and over again for loot or points), my first question is for a PVE guy like me, who loved the story, WOW is okay to jump into? My second question is we all know where the third game ended in terms of storywise. If I start the game, will the game start at the end of the third game or i will be put inside a new world with lots of events that happened after the third game?
