MMO's just not worth it anymore

Considering this is the MMO subforum I would like to ask if people agree with me that MMO's just aren't great anymore. I've read a few articles with people saying the same and its alot about the community and the ideas and all that. In all honesty I think nothing new and exciting has come its just the same stuff all over again not just MMO's but games in general its like an era with the same stuff same ideas but different storys background blah blah blah. I wouldn't say its not fun but after all that grinding and really no benefit it kinda just gets to you that this isn't fun anymore like no game is lasting that long if you really want to be good at an MMO you have to spend hours on hours of grinding that really isn't fun and money man do they want that. Does anyone agree or am I just seeing the worst games
