Hi there! I figured this cooking forum could use some Asian delicacies. Today I have for you all a Milk Mochi recipe (very helal) with instructions. Keep in mind that the amount of sugar used is completely up to you and depends on how sweet you want it to be.
Ingredients:
- Sixteen tablespoons of hot milk (any milk of your choice)
- Four tablespoons of sugar
- Half a tablespoon of salt
- Fourteen tablespoons of Glutinous Rice Flour (must be glutinous)
- Some Corn Starch
Now that we have the ingredients let's start making it!
Step 1.
Pour the Glutinous Rice Flour, Salt and sugar into a bowl.
Step 2.
Mix the ingredients.
Step 3.
Pour some of the hot milk into the bowl and mix it around. After you have mixed pour some more and repeat the process until there are no more lumps of rice flour.
Step 4.
Now that you are done mixing its time to put it in the microwave for 90 seconds. After it's out of the microwave mix it again and put it back in the microwave for 90 seconds. Then proceed to mix it again.
If you notice that it is undercooked in some part(s) put it back into the microwave for 45 seconds and mix again (It is important to note that the time depends on your microwave's power). You can eat a little bit of it and if it tastes like raw rice flour then it's undercooked. If it is undercooked pour some more milk, mix and back in to the microwave.
Step 5.
Keep mixing and it will get stickier and stickier. Once it is getting hard to mix with a spatula you can change equipment to a pestle. Keep using the pestle until it becomes glutinous and very sticky. Now let it cool down for a little bit.
Step 6.
Pour corn starch on your table/desk/pc or wherever your making this. Make sure there's enough since you'll be rolling the dough in it.
Step 7.
Roll the dough until it's long and wide
