Tails is an operating system that is booted from a flash drive.
Tails has amnesia, so it wipes itself clean every time you power off. You can set a persistent volume, but I do not recommend as the point of this is to remain anonmyous.
Grab an old thumb drive. You do not need much space. 12-16 gb is fine.
Go to tails and download > https://tails.boum.org/install/index.en.html
Installing onto a flash is pretty simple. You'll need balenaetcher tool to install the OS on the drive.
Once it's done, keep flash plugged in on any device and restart to get to boot menu. On windows, you can hold shift and restart. It will bring you to the boot menu.
Choose the drive at boot menu, and that's it.
Comes pre-installed with Tor to further protect you. That being said, if you use any personal info on any of your account activity, then Tails cannot protect that.
