I just created an account there to share my opinion since I've seen a lot of complain about the actual meta (too much damage, some runes being overtuned, late game being at 25min most of the games) that I agree with but I don't think this is a bad thing.
I started playing at the end of season 1 where almost every champ was busted and everyone could play anything anywhere. I played until end of season 4 where I peaked diamond I. During this years, I had so much fun playing this game that I couldn't play others games. Then, tank meta appeared and I felt like too much games were decided by teammates overextending lategame or teamcomp being weaker (not having a tank for example). So I left the game for another game where games lenght were shorter and especially where my skills could really decide the result of the game.
I continued watching Esport and I was revived not having to play during Ardent meta. I came back during last world when a friend of mine told me that the game felt like season 3 again. I didn't trust him firstly and I can say now that this is not the case. The game is more balanced, toxicity is justly punished and everygame can be decided by every role, even support (Im looking at you, Brand). Simply the fact that I can play yasuo botlane shows that the meta is very versatile like the first seasons.
The main thing that really made me come back to this game is that I am having FUN. Games and laning phases are shorter and there are so much skirmishes at any point of the game that you have no time to get bored.
So I would like to congratulate Riot for the changes they made and I also want to know is there are some old school players like me that came back to the game because of the points I explained.
