This is my absolutely favourite way to make chicken
~ and maybe yours too once you try it ~
You'll be done in about 30 mins
For2 people (i cook for me and @MrWalmart but you can choose someone else i guess) you'll need about:
- 400g of chicken breasts (or if you prefer legs or wings, that's cool too but those are nicer marinated)
- 100g of rice
or
- 4 or 5 regular potatos
- 1 vegetal of your choice, i like broccoli
- salt
- salt
- salt
- for my chicken i use salt
- and tandoori which is a spice from Bangladesh they usually put on fish but it goes great on any meat aswell
- if you don't have it/ you're too lazy to go find it in a supermarket around you, you can use curry
- oil
- crushed black pepper
~You'll need 1 pot, 2 pans and a colander~
Start off by cleaning the veggie of your choice, wash it or peel it, whatever it is. When that's done, put it aside in a bowl or smth so its not in the way but prepared.
If you prefer potatos over rice, peel those bad bois too. Cut them into similar sized chunks of thicc, toss em in your pot and fill that up with enough water so your potatos are covered. On the stove, high heat until the water's boiling, add your preferred amount of salt and turn the heat down to medium. Don't forget to set an alarm in like 15-20 mins.
Protip: When boiling potatos or noodles, there is no such thing as too much salt. Just make sure to add it after you've brought the water to a boil.
If you went with rice instead, put it in your colander and wash it thoroughly. You want that yucky starch that makes your rice sticky as hell gone. Rice goes in the pot and use double the amount of water (100g rice -> 200g water). From there on it's the same as above, bring it to a boil, add salt (don't wanna oversalt this one tho), medium heat, alarm in 15-20 mins.
Next you wanna do your vegetals, cut whatever you chose into chunks of your liking (pretty easy with broccoli, cut the stem and break it up into little trees). I really like steaming my vegetables - Put your greens in a pan, no oil, just add a little water, bop a lid on and let it sit on medium - high heat for 10 minutes. Make sure you take the lid off half way through so the water can steam away and you dont have soggy veggies that you need to drain.
Obviously you can also just stir fry whatever you like, cut your veggies somewhat thin then though.
And while all that is cookin and doin it's thing, you'll just need to do a few more things and your lunch/dinner is done.
The chicken breast can be cut however you like, i usually just go with chunks cause those cook through faster. Salt it, put tandoori or curry over everything, don't forget the pepper, then add a lil bit of oil and give it a good mixing with your hands. Make sure your pans already hot when you put in the chicken. Stir and flip however much you like, it's fun, just don't bend over your pan too much or the chicken will attack. This is not a joke, i've had chicken fat this fuckin close to my eyes before and i ain't about to repeat that shit.
By the time your chicken is cooked through everything else should be done.
Potatos need to get stabbed with ease, rice needs to have no more water in the pot, veggies should be crunchy but cooked and your chicken should be completely cooked through and still juicy inside.
I throw everything on a plate and I'm happy but you can of course also get it into a bowl for easy shoveling.
Alright thats it, try it for yourself @
