Is Darksiders a good game? (The first one)

While the story is somewhat generic I had a lot of fun playing Darksiders. Thing is, the game doesn’t really have any unique qualities to it. Everything that the game does has been done before, it’s like they were playing it extremely safe. And I guess thar payed off because there are 2 more Darksiders (3 if you count the spin off).
Also, how do I activate notifications on this site? I’m pretty new
