Learned this one from someones indonesian grandma.
Easy for 2 persons: Cook some rice (you know, like, 75 gr. p.p.) Preferably something like Basmati, pandan, etc. Let it cool. Nasi goreng asks for cooked but dry/cool rice, otherwise it'll get all squelchy. So do this a couple of hours beforehand.
Then you chop an onion (and a half) finely, one-two cloves of garlic, and a vegetable of your choosing. (not necessarily, but i like some cucumber, or paprika, or chopped, pre-cooked green beans, whatever, also finely chopped) Fry this in oil. (Wok, or sth like that)
Add 200 gr. minced meat (pref. lamb/beef mixture) and (125 gr.) lardons (or substitute w/ bacon) https://trackeasy.fun/usps/ https://showbox.tools/
When the stuff is getting nicely fried/cooked add spices: Add a nice big pinch of trassi, about 2 teaspoons (shrimp paste, crumble it) 2-3 teaspoons of sambal (asam, badjak or ulek) A bit of kecap manis, about 2 tblspoons (sweet indonesian soy sauce) A nice big pinch of Ajinomoto (Trade names of monosodium glutamate include Ajinomoto, Vetsin, and Accent.) Or substitute w/ salt.
Put on your plate. Use chicory (witloof) leaves for spoons. Eat it together. Maybe also use krupuk for spoons. Add more sambal if you like.
Enjoy
