Im from South Africa and we do proper BBQ
In Afrikaans - "Braai"
Needed foods for a Braai:
Boerewors - A South African sausage in one big turn. This is perfect for a big meal Braai if your having multiple people over in the true tradition.
Cheesewors, Chilliwors etc. Are all other combinations of bourwors with different additions.
Biltong - Biltong is a dry meat which Americans called beef jerky, Bitlong is a more dry seasoning and gives less of a tang but more natural beef. This is a must have for a pre-snack.
Steak - A classic Braai steak would be a rump with classic seasonings, Its perfect medium-rare so you can get a good sear without it overcooking.
Chicken - I recommend doing a flattie, where you spatchcock a chicken and lay it out flat add classic seasonigns with some kick and paprika but becareful not to burn it.
Alcohol- I love a good Savannah Cider, im usually not a fan of cider but this one hits the spot. Or beers some Amstels really do the trick.
Wines I like a red Alto Rouge, White a babylonstoren and for any spirits Amarula and Wington Vo.
Cold Drinks - Sparletta is by far the best everytime I drink it, reminds me of home, Twist is also another good one.
Spices - You may be wondering what spices should I use, I like braai salt with spices, or Ina Paraamans Braai and Grill.
Looking for recipes or anything get this post some traction and ill post some wonders.
