There is very little time between the end of playins and the start of groups. Currently, the entirety of the FNC roster are covid-positive except Hylissang (who only arrived today).
It's not unlikely we'll see more players test positive. FNC should be negative by the time they need to get to NYC, but what about the others? What happens if the entirety of the RNG roster test positive before their flight to the US? Only preparing accomodations 1 week before games start could've ended much more catastrophically than FNC being unable to scrim & fielding a sub for two games. For Worlds in KR and China, Riot prepared accomodations weeks in advance respecting COVID.
This year they pretend there's no COVID, causing what we see today. And I don't think the worst is yet to come. All of these players will need to travel to NYC for Groups. What is Riot's plan? To me it feels like with this schedule they have no plan and country COVID restrictions between Worlds stage locations is a recipe for disaster.
