I just wanted to put together a quick set of bullet points that'll help you sleep a little easier at night if you starting messing around on the internet in places and doing things that aren't allowed or looked down upon, etc.

Let me know what I missed and I'll edit the suggestions in.

VVVVV

1) Do NOT share photos taken from yourcellphoneunless you know what you know how to remove all the data that's included in that little bastard.
DuckDuckGo search: "How to Remove EXIF Metadata from Photos" for more information
2) Keep your mouth shut. Bragging? Boasting? Busted!
Found the most awesome, top-secret, thingy-ma-bobber? Good for you! Talking about it will only risk extra ears.
3) If someone new is asking you a lot of questions, close the chat.
Comes back to the idea of talking will only wind you up in trouble at some point
4) Get a VPN!
I personally suggest Nord but honestly, ANYTHING is better than nothing. I don't care if you are just browsing youtube for funny cat videos, get behind a VPN or a proxy. With all the data mining that's going on today, the less your ISP knows, the better. No matter the site you are browsing.
5) Don't use TOR on Windows unless you are just browsing around.
This is another thing that you can search for on DuckDuckGo to better understand the reasons why it's REALLY not encouraged.
6) Avoid using extensions in any of your browsers
No matter what your VPN is pointing to, if you are logged into your pinterest, googleand who knows what else, what good is it hiding your IP if all these accounts now realize that "John Doe is now on IP # ....." If all your social media accounts are logging into that IP or any other account that has your name on it, it wouldn't be hard to connect the dots if someone wanted to.

If you want to play around online, you should be forcing yourself to be using more than just 'common sense'. You should treat everyone likea possible threat until you have a great reason to believe otherwise. Everyone is a scammer, everyone is a hacker and everyone is out to screw youover, until you know for certain otherwise.

Almost everywhere in the world has strict laws about one thing or another. Wheather or not the laws or right or wrong for the citizens, breaking those laws results in punishment of one form or another. If you want a 100% sure way of not getting in trouble is to not do anything illegal in the first place. After that option, you are only left with being either really smart about how you go about it or just plain risky...

Please stay educated...
