As some of you may know, a couple of years ago Thailand made it sort of legal to grow and sell cannabis provided you have the right licences. I have a fully licenced farm in that country, and now the annual monsoon is coming to an end, we're starting another growing season. Some of our crop is in large greenhouses, and some indoors. Those of you familiar with American operations will know what this involves.
The main problem we farmers face in Thailand is there are too many suppliers. This is mainly because of people growing and selling without licences. Demand has definitely gone up each year, but supply has increased at an even faster rate. I get the feeling similar things happened in American states that legalised the business. Wholesale prices have gone down to around $1,000 per kg of best quality buds and half that for regular stuff. Maybe the market has bottomed out, or maybe we can look forward to another drop in prices. I get the feeling, quite a few growers will drop out if prices fall further.
I'm curious to know what prices are in other parts of the world. How much would you pay where you live?
