DAPPs with actual utility?

I know this will get downvoted, but I feel as though there are very few proven use cases for dapps. By this, I mean use cases that will have widespread utility as opposed to some sort of niche service. The widespread utility that made Web 2.0 what it is today. From what I have seen, the main use cases that seem to make sense are payments, exchanges and cloud storage. What else is there? Sure you could argue that universities could issue nfts for degree certificates but this can just be done off the ledger by some 3rd party entity that can provide this service (if it’s even really needed).
