curiosity on se

I know "social engineering" is very grey area and is almost always illegal but just out of curiosity whats the legality on hosting a discord. Like lets say someone makes a discord and puts methods there. If the owner says they are not responsible and that methods are for "educational purposes only" would that free the owner of all liability?
just curious as me and my friends were talking about this today
