Hello,
Im making this guide for people which just started making animated thread designs, also bc im tired of seeing unoptimized designs.
Please read this guide carefully.
So, first of all u need Adobe XD, Adobe After Effects and Media Encoder to make a Animated thread design, I prefer non cracked version since after effects really has bugs on cracked version. (Adobe xd is free)
We need Adobe XD to make first the Static version and After effects to animate. Why Adobe XD? Because it uses vector and not pixels like photoshop, photoshop is for photo manipulation and not for designs.
What is Media Encoder? Media Encoder will help us to export/render the gifs out. It's basically a program to render in diffrent formats.
Vector is thausend times sharper than pixels and is resizeable without losing any quality. Our width will be always 1200 or lower, over 1200 would make the file size too big.
After you've done the static version in Adobe XD you need to chop every part. I prefer to do it section to section (category to category whatever), please name & save every chop may u need to edit it later. Everything should saved as PNG.
Also order & name your shapes in Adobe XD, like a clean code. Always use SVG Icons, SVG's are vector. I've save my svg's that I use in a folder so I don't need to google them again.
So heading to After effects, import one of your chops (png file) and create a new composition with your chop image. The FPS should be max 50 more is useless, FPS really makes a diffrence in your file size so does colors too. Always make a loop to make it look good. The loop should be max 15 secounds. If you're done please head to the render setting to after effects and export it as PNG Sequence. Why as PNG Sequence when we can export it directly as GIF in Media Encoder? Because exporting it directly from media encoder compresses the colors in the gif and makes the file size slightly bigger, sure you can do this but to offer the best quality to your cusomters I prefer to render it out first as PNG Sequence. After you've done that head to Media encoder and import your PNG Sequence, after that render it out as gif. Every gif should be max. 7mb otherwise it won't load this is important, I've seen people who made a thread with a 40MB gif.
Don't forget to put every images you use in a folder, moving any images will effect your image path in after effects! Ask me here if you have any question regarding this.
