Am I running out of time

Hello, i graduated high school and after that i basically worked a retail job for 3 years, i didn't go to college and I'm scared that I'm running out of time to do something id like. I wanna get into video editing, visual effects and/or even you tube because there is nothing else i like. but i don't know where to start and school for visual effects costs 50k a year at a decent school. AND i would have to go to a non profit. I'm looking for advice as to if I'm shit outta luck or if there's still a path i should follow. Thank you
