tl;dr --> Altenen is a scam, apparently a known one, guess I'm just dumb. Don't trust their marketplace lol... I'm dumb.
So, recently I got scammed out of $2k. This was due to their positive reviews from new and dated members on their site. However, I noticed one strange thing after I realized I has got scammed, every single one of their users that left a review on any of their services hasn't been active since they made that review. I found something online and apparently after the user realizes it's a scam they change their login information and leave a positive review on whatever service the user got scammed on. They insist you use the Escrow service to give you a false sense of security. However, upon doing some slight investigation I have found some pretty good information.
Firstly, they're all the same person. I sent a pretty good looking imgur looking IP logger (this basically is almost impossible to tell the difference between the real and false, unless you do a redirect check on the original domain) both the "seller" and the "escrow" clicked on the link, and they both had the same VPN IP address.
All in all, did I deserve to get scammed? Honestly I feel like I did. I was desperate for some cash, so I even resorted to really fucked up means of getting it. But overall, don't trust Altenen. Use their website for free, but never use their market place. They've made their website look like a casual forum but the "verified" sellers are all just the owner of the site scamming site users.
If you want "proof" of me getting scammed then ask yourself this. In what world does a package cost $1,000 extra to spray for covid? I was pretty suspicious and knew there was a genuine chance of me getting scammed and I did so I'm not super bummed out about it. I just want to warn people here, especially people not in the best financial situation. These guys look legit but I promise you they are not.
Also feel free to laugh at me for falling for such a blatent scam, it's just proof anybody can get scammed, even the most vigilant people.
