TICKET RESALE GUIDE Introduction
With ticket reselling there are a range of different event types we will target high margin events and free ticket events that we feel will resale the information provided will only cover these events. Please read the guides.
Is It Legal To Resell Tickets?
Yes (in the UK other countries may vary)
Accounts on Ticket Sites
To begin, make accounts for the following sites. Similar to sneaker reselling make multiple accounts and ensure that the details are different on each account (Some sites will cancel your tickets if you go over their per-person or per-household limit so this is important if buying bulk)
Ticketmaster, AXS, Livenation, Eventbrite, SEE Tickets, Gigs and tours, Dice
Sessionbox
Lets you create multiple sessions at once which will let you search for tickets on multiple tabs. The pro version costs $9 a month and allows you to use proxies. (This is ideal for bypassing Queues such as on ticketmaster)
Google Chrome Users
By adding multiple users on chrome it allows you to create multiple tabs with different cookies for websites this is ideal for ticket splash page releases view the guides below on how to setup
Step 1 - Open up google chrome on PC
Step 2 - Go to settings and add as many users as possible this will create a different window with its own unique cookies
Alt + Tab On Pc
F3 On Mac will allow you to view all of the tabs at once
Step 3 - Speed Up browser - This will reduce lag and allow you to create more users
Turn of hardware acceleration
Turn of Accelerated 2D Canvas
Turn of GPU rasterization
Credit Cards / Presale
Often ticket releases will have a presale a few days ahead of the general release - register for an amex card in order to give you priority presale access to events
Barclaycard - Via their website
Vodafone - By signing up to 02 and vodafone you get access to the 02 priority app. You can simply buy a sim top up £10 then log in and verify via the text you get sent. Sign up here
Ticket Delivery Methods
Mobile screenshot -Images of the ticket from your phone, where you are supposed to scan the ticket at the venue for entry (some sites offer the option to add to apple wallet)
Mobile transfer - Tickets moved through Ticket Master’s transfer system whereby moving tickets from your account to the buyers this is a totally risk free process (some other sites also offer this)
PDF - Documents on your computer or phone that are sent as your tickets (PDF are universally accepted on all devices so these are used as standard for ticket files)
Physical Tickets - Need to be shipped when selling these note that you will have to wait till they are delivered to the customer before you receive a payout on platforms such as stubhub. We recommend to ship tickets ensured to cover against
What To Buy
Never buy restricted view, hospitality or access tickets
Big city shows (Usually larger profits)
Weekend events (Higher demand = Higher profits),
Popularity of previous events (Look at demand and sold prices of similar events previously by the artist),
Venue Size ( Venue size in comparison to demand)
Proximity to stage (Usually tickets in the floor standing or front rows command the highest resale prices)
Buy multiples, as many as possible (the limit will be stated on each website) never buy individual unless standing
How To Buy - Ticketmaster
Some sales require you to sign up in advance to receive a presale code (this gives you early access to releases). Presale tickets will normally go on sale 1-4 days before general release.
When purchasing presale tickets make sure you are on the page 30-45 minutes before the release. Queues are cookie based so use methods outlined above. Having multiple tabs will increase your odds of being sent through early when the best tickets will be in stock. Follow the sessionbox and chrome method in order to achieve this. Ensure you log into accounts prior to release
When on the purchasing page, you will have to be quick to add to cart. Once the tickets are in your cart you have 6-10 minutes to check out (Check resale prices in this period).
Make sure you know the per-person limit (you can find this one the event info) Try to purchase as many tickets as you can in order to maximise profits
Tickets from abandoned carts will be restocked due to the cart hold system in place so monitor for restocks
When To Sell?
Generally ticket prices are lowest during general release and highest on the week of the event I recommend listing up on sites such as viagogo as soon as you have purchased for a high price, you can always lower your pricing.
Where To Sell?
Firstly Check for fan facebook pages and groups join these and post the tickets for sale if this is unsuccessful try local marketplaces and social media such as twitter. Find posts about the event on the artists social media and find people wanting to buy the tickets and post your tickets for sale in the comments if this fails to sell tickets on StubHub or, Viagogo, some events also allow resale on ticketmaster and the AXS app for close to face value.. When selling, ensure you list on multiple platforms to increase your chances of selling quicker. Note that even though some uk examples are used these artists are touring globally so use your local venues where possible. Note that all of these tickets will mainly be a hold and may not sell until close to the event when people panic buy. Look at the proximity of the event before buying, and check the stock levels before drop shipping on resale sites.
Twickets
If you find an event that is selling well, always set up alerts on Twickets. Twickets Is a site where people offload tickets for retail for events which they can not go to. I find this great for drop shipping tickets for popular events such as festivals and arena events. For smaller events this does not work as well as there is not the supply of tickets needed.
Cashback
Cashback sites use these before you purchase online you get a % of your purchase back as cash. Takes a while to receive and isn’t always that much but adds up a lot. Ticketmaster and some other sites give cashback on purchases
