Hey everyone thanks for stopping by ! New to the forums and decided that I was going to try to make a quick and easy guide for new guys like myself, that I just did not know at first not being an avid forum user in general in the past. If even just one person takes any value from this whatsoever, or has some question answered that I had to ask myself then that's good enough for me !
Tips and Courtesy Guide For Beginners By a Beginner:
Sending your First Thread:
Sending your first thread may be somewhat confusing for the first time. You may be wondering how to properly use the toolbar you see above the text box.
The most common used tool bar items you will come across (that you may not be familiar with compared to more commonly known ones) will be "Insert " & "Hide Tag" (Picture link: )
Insert : This will make it so anything between the text, will appear as this message does. Ex: [spoler][/spoler] (Misspelled to avoid it turning into a lol)
Hide Tag: Hide tag will create "" posts, that users will have to reply to be able to view the post.
Extra Tips: Formatting can make a post look a lot better, take advantage of different colours, font types and sizes, and centering certain text to make them catch attention more !
Thread Courtesy:
Thread courtesy, especially as a new member is very important but constantly overlooked. Liking a user's post that has something people may want to check out, not only motivates the user to post more often, but helps their profile out as well ! When stopping by someone's post, consider leaving a like on their post ! After all, it is right there as soon as you click on their post ! Provide more than just a generic thank you as a reply, we are a community and should be engaging each other more often ! Quality posts come more often when the person posting is recognized for their efforts after all, so support everyone ! (make sure to put the : after their username as well)
Chatbox Settings:Chatbox settings are found in the top right of the chatbox, and can be configured per user liking
Courtesy:The chatbox is a very relaxed place to meet a lot of cool people. Do not come into the forums and be rude and disrespectful to members, it will not get you far
Like I said nice quick short guide for new users, hope this helps a few people out with how the forums work. If I can think of any more will edit, wrote this tired as hell
