The word's leading file hosting service company, Dropbox, announced that they will be having their first-ever developer conference to be held this coming July 9, 2013 at Fort Mason in San Francisco, California.
According to Dropbox, adding another 100 million users means integrating with an ever-increasing number of devices and services. For that reason, it needs an army of willing developers. The company will try to extend its reach by holding it's first-ever DBX developer conference.
The conference will give developers a chance to meet with Dropbox engineers and share ideas about building on the platform. During the conference, developers will "be the first to learn about new products that will make developing on Dropbox even easier."
Dropbox will also announced their plans with their recent acquisitions which include Snapjoy for photo sharing, Mailbox for email, and Audiogalaxy for music. For the past few years there are numerous questions about how the company will avoid getting overtaken by online storage offerings from bigger competitors but the emergence of SkyDrive, Google Drive and iCloud have done seemingly little to blunt the company's momentum.
The announcement of the first Dropbox Developer Conference comes after a few months after they simplified its developer tools, making it easier for developers to implement Dropbox tools like sync, offline caching, and background uploads without building custom software.
