Programming is considered by many as one of the hardest task in any computer-related course but a pint-sized programming wizard Zora Ball made an astonishing achievement by creating a full version of a mobile application video game.
The 7-year-old first grader, Zora Ball from Philadelphia's Harambee Institute of Science and Technology Charter School accomplished a task that anyone are afraid of doing.
Bootstrap programming language was used by Zora Ball to built the app, and unveiled her game at FATE's (Foundation for the Advancement of Technology in Education) "Bootstrap Expo" at the University of Pennsylvannia.
The exact incarnation of Bootstrap that Ball used was a standards-based curriculum and programming environment supported by FATE. This specific program teaches students to program their own video games and applications using purely algebraic and geometric concepts.
Zora Ball become a master of the Bootstrap programming language and she was able to reconfigure her application on the fly using Bootstrap. She reconfigure the app and executed it perfectly in front of the audience after some people were suspicious of her achievement.
According to their teacher at the Harambee Science, Tariq Al-Nazir, he expect great things from Zora. The 7-year-old programmer has an older brother named, Trace Ball, a former STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Scholar of the Year.
The above-mentioned achievement of the world's youngest game developer, Zora Ball will surely served as an inspiration for those who are willing to learn programming. No matter what age you are right now, there's nothing impossible in the world of programming. If a 7-year-old can do, why not someone like you.
If you know someone who is younger than 7-year-old and a proficient programmer right now, then let us know through the comment section, and we will surely feature you in our site.
