If you’re not familiar with OMR software, it’s a computer program that recognizes the mark of an answer sheet or survey form. OMR is useful if you want to use computer to check the large number of documents.

Consider having 30 pages of answer sheet and allow your computer to check the mark and transfer it to the database or an excel worksheet. The amount of time you will save is comparatively big compare to doing it yourself, manually.

There are numerous OMR software nowadays, and their feature varies from each other.

The following are the OMR software I intend to use:

FormFix from Accusoft.com

DotImage from Atalasoft.com

GdPicture Forms Processing Plugin from gdpicture.com

After downloading the SDK of each of the software above, I found that FormFix from Accusoft is easier to use compare with its alternatives.

FormFix comes with C# and VB.NET samples. The samples are good enough to create your own OMR processing project. Within two days, I manage to finish the application I made to check the answer sheet and even having a computerized voting system.
