When you’re a mobile notary, you get that fee, plus the associated costs of printing documents and going to the client. The estimate in the title is extremely conservative. Each appointment averages $100 gross profit for about an overall hour of work, so 4 signings per day at that rate will be $400 for 4 hours of work! Signings will range from $75 to $150, but can be even higher in some cases.
TOTAL UP-FRONT COST IS AROUND $500 IF YOU’RE STARTING WITH ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. THIS CAN EASILY BE RECOUPED IN LESS THAN A WEEK.

Listing gas and toner in the requirements may seem stupid, but that list is basically just to account for expenses. First of all you’ll want to go to www.nationalnotary.org to become a certified notary public in your state. Requirements and prices will vary state-to-state, but most shouldn’t require a test, and it should be around $200. This will get you your certification, training, seal stamp, bond, and insurance. The site will explain what all of these things mean. Once you’re approved and all of these things arrive, then you’re ready to make money.
