Hello folks,
I had been discussing this in the shoutbox last night, but I'm actually interested in it so I have decided to open a thread to collect different opinions.
So, basically, I'm studying both a Computer Science degree and a Business Management and Administration degree, and according to the syllabus, next year I'll be choosing one of the 5 official specializations for computer science, which are:
  • Software Engineering
  • Computing (focused on Maths, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining/Big Data... looks like many people who get into this become researchers or university teachers)
  • Information Technologies (Networking, Security...)
  • Computer engineering (I'd say this one is more focused on hardware, it's not available in my university)
  • Information Systems (it's so linked with Business, but it's not available in my university)
But only the first three specializations are available in my university. I think I'd choose Information Systems if I could (it combines pretty well with my secondary degree), but I guess that's not an option for now. So, since there are many people into tech here, I'd like to ask you: which of the mentioned paths do you think has the best future and why? Keep in mind that I can also study a master after the degree, in which I can get into a more specific area and I think it doesn't matter which degree spec I chose to access it.
Thank you very much for your time and opinions
