I noticed the Bitcoin and Ethereum tickers on the side of this site, and figured I'd share some knowledge I have about crypto currencies to anyone interested in some well researched knowledge.
A lot of coins on coinmarketcap.com run on Bitcoin or Ethereum technology, this is a huge reason you are hearing about Ethereum now - there are over 5400 coins that use Ethereum's tech being the ERC20 token.
A newer coin that has recently exploded in the passed two years is called Byteball (ticker $GBYTE)
Major reasons for this being an initially low supply, and like Ethereum, exciting new tech and even a new distribution method where mining is bypassed and new Byteball coins are distributed free to Bitcoin and Byteball holders - EVERY SINGLE FULL MOON!
But I'm not even here to tell you about Byteball, frankly for me it's old news at this point and I've been on the lookout for again - new coin technology!
This is where I found a coin called Sky Coin (YES THE SKYNET IS COMING, WERE DOOMED)
Skycoin has once again, decided to go in a different direction from the technologies used by Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Byteball, and is working on a decentralized world where everyone is their own bank!
If you've heard of Bitcoin mining, or mining other coins, you probably know its an expensive investment without much return - but this is one of the challenges Sky Coin has begun to tackle by creating self branded mining equipment for a cheap price, using a competitively more efficient technology to mine.
These rigs will help to create the Skynet where the future goal is to have enough machines in the world powering the Sky network, that we no longer need internet service providers.
Another big fad in cryptocurrency right now is trading coins on exchanges like Bittrex.com, but these exchanges are centralized and charge trading fees.
This is another challenge Skycoin has tackled head on, by creating it's own decentralized exchange, which is not subject to the whims of governments and doesnt require any fees to trade between to parties.
There are other projects Sky Coin are working on like a reddit-esque platform and more.
Another thing that sticks out about Skycoin is the amount of developers the project has compared to most other coins, some of which are vapor ware or slowly progressed by one developer.
I'd like to state that I am in no way affiliated with Sky Coin or the team, just an excited investor that is trying to spread the word about the project, the same way people did when Bitcoin was $10.00 or Byteball was $.15 cents (in the hundreds now)
If you wanna learn more you can google Skycoin and easily find their site, I dont want to add any links as not to put people off.
They also have a Telegram you can pop into and ask the devs questions!
Peace nulled family!
