Basically, You should wait for big event that managed by experienced company like ESL, Faceit, Starladder. Why? Because they gonna have "rulebook" this is important and it's my trick that most of people don't know.
When you managed to get rulebook for event. For example I got Starladder major 2019 which gonna start soon. You gonna search for word "veto" or something like that. It gonna tell which team will start picking map first. This is very important and you can get a lot of value by this trick. If somehow book not prepared for it. They will make map 1 and map 2 bet odd the same. In this case, Starladder rulebook said
"The random team will be assigned as the Team A or Team B. Team A starts the process...."
This mean random team will pick map, In this case, You won't get much value but If you still want to bet, I recommend to search which team have better map pool and take adventage of it.
Another good example. ESL one cologne 2019 which gonna start tomorrow. I can't find 2019 rulebook. But I found 2017 rulebook. So I gonna use that as reference. Note that something might change so be aware about that.

"The higher seed always determines who starts the ban/pick process"
In this case, It's very good for us. You can find that who got higher seed. That team gonna have a lot of adventage and you should go ahead bet on map 1 ML/Handicap as they will be a team that pick first map most likely (They can choose to pick map 2 instead but most likely no)
