I work out 3 times a week and to maximize recovery on rest days as a college student I look no further than the holy grail of cheap gains: eggs
I'd tipically eat 7-9 eggs a day on rest days and try to eat them in various forms. also herbs do wonders for circulations
On a nice saturday morning I would go like:
2-3 Eggs scrambled with grated nutmeg and ground cumin seeds. Salt to taste and chop cilantro I grow.
1 cup of rice
Pickled onion
Ginger tea (ginger tea is great bro!!)
I always try to reduce fats when I scramble or fried eggs, olive oil can be expensive so most of the time I use margarine as it's tasty and can be used in small quantities
On afternoon my pick goes like this:
Shredded chicken (frozen chicken gets really cheap! shredded means you can cook it easily by just frying and tossing with seasonings!)
Tomato and cucumber salad with light vinaigrette (trust me vinaigrette is cheap and easy to make girls will love you)
Chopped boiled eggs (2 or 3)
Another cup or two of ginger tea!
For dinner I mostly try to stick with proteins and reduce carbs, pizza is tasty but can kill your gains! on rest days going hard on proteins is always the best but gets expensive quick, try to experiment with eggs and spices so you can get aesthetic while being cheap!
