Hi! I'm WYSIWYG, an Indie Game Developer, and I just reached Master IV this current season. I've been playing as a MID LANER in Garena PH server and studying League since 2014 in hope of making it into pro play here in the Phillipines. I've been one-tricking Aurelion Sol since his first debut together with my buddies (from my champion pool)---Lee Sin, Elise, Singed, Gragas and Hecarin. MID LANE.
Yep, you read it right! It might sound like a troll at first glance but I came out with interesting experiments as the years passes by that I want to share with you guys 'cuz your awesome.
But first, if you want to learn how to play the strategy that I'll be teaching you. You might want to learn the fundamentals of the game, including some macro and micro knowledge of the game. I've provided some links below to help you level up your plays while identifying your mistakes. Although some of the contents from this websites are not free, it will help you understand the things or terms that you might never heard before that I'm using in my strategy.
LINKS THAT WILL HELP YOUR PLAY IMPROVE:
Before I share you my strat called, "LOSE LANE AND WIN GAMES with Singed Mid Lane", you might want to study first how Singed kit works. His abilities are really simple to understand but hard to master. A good mastery of how his passive, Mega-Adhesive + Fling combo/Reverse and how his Ultimate - Insanity Poison works will give you an edge towards your enemy.
I recommend watching a guide from youtube to get a gist on how Singed works.
So, let's see what differentiate me from other Singed players worldwide and dive straight into my guide!
--Ask WYSIWYG: LOSE LANE AND WIN GAMES with Singed Mid Lane--
1.) WHY THE HELL WOULD I EVEN PLAY SINGED MID LANE?
Answer: The answer lies in his character game design.
  • He can be flexed at multiple roles---Mid, Top, Jungle (with his insane jungle clear speed with Hunter's Talisman) or even Support.
  • His kit is SO flexible. You can change his runes in a variety of way and build depending on the situation. Your team doesn't have a tank? No problem! Take the Resolve tree and go Unflinching, then build tank items mid-game. Your team doesn't have enough DPS (Damage per second)? No problem! Take the Conquerer rune and build damage items. Your duo support always make the wrong calls in engaging the enemy team? No problem! Pick Singed, take Predator and build Rigtheous Glory the next game you play again, make your own calls. There are a lot of combinations you can make with Singed which makes him the right pick if you don't know what your enemy will be playing in the champion select mode.
  • He is very easy to play with minimal outplays potential, regardless of what elo you are
If you want to learn more why he is a viable pick, I suggest reading this another guide
of Singed at http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-l...s-guide-to-singed-let-the-season-begin-554872
2.) HOW DO I SUPPOSED TO PLAY SINGED MID LANE?
Answer: Play it like you normally do. If you have a very good understanding of what, why, where, when and how to manipulate a minion wave, how to trade effectively and how to play vision control then it would be easier for you to win lanes.
3.) WHAT THE HELL? THEN WHAT DIFFERENTIATES YOU FROM THE OTHER SINGED PLAYERS WORLDWIDE?
Answer: I have my own style of playing Singed.
PREPARATION PHASE
Before I jumped into ranked games, on the LoL Client, I make sure that my build and runes for Singed are already set-up.
For my standard runes, I take Phase Rush > Nimbus Cloak > Celerity > Waterwalking > Magical Footwear > and Approach Velocity. You'll see later in the "Laning Phase Section" why my runes is setup like this.
My build path goes like this.
Rylai's Scepter/Early Quicksilver (Against Heavy-Crowd Control Opponents) > Liandry's Torment > HEXTECH GUNBLADE/ Righteous Glory/ Randuin's Omen > Dead Man's Plate > Aegis of the Solari/Knight's Vow/Morellonomicon.
CHAMPION SELECT
  • I DECLARE A TOP LANE CHAMPION AT THE START OF THE GAME THAT IS ALSO VIABLE IN THE MID LANE (like Rumble and Renekton). I DO NOT DECLARE SINGED OR ELSE MY TEAMMATES WILL DODGE THE GAME. My teammate might also steal your position if you do declare Singed mid lane.
  • I ban champions that can hard-cc or lock me down and is popular in my elo (like Veigar, Cassio and Malzahar) in the banning phase.
  • When it's time for me to select a champion in the champion select, I hover all the top lane champions that I've unlocked and lock in Singed afterwards. This technique is called "Flexing". "Flex pick” is a term used in League of Legends to describe certain champions and draft strategies. It specifically refers to a champion that is able to play in more than one lane or role. They allow for teams to create distinct advantages for themselves in draft and give themselves good lane matchups. You should abuse small advantages like this if you want to climb up the ladder.
  • My Summoner's Spell I take ALWAYS are Ghost and Smite. YES. Not Teleport, not Ignite, but SMITE. You'll understand later on why I take smite rather than taking other spells.
GAME START
I DO NOT level up an ability until the laning phase starts or an invade occurs. I always start with E then W. Then I max Q afterwards. You'll see why later.
This is PART OF MY GAME PLAN. Even pros and experience players I face in solo queue and tournaments fall for this simple trick.
MISSION #1: Let the wave PUSH.
Only last hit minions when it's safe/you don't take too much harass/damage from the enemy champion. DO NOT USE AN ABILITY JUST YET ON THE FIRST & SECOND WAVE.
Go and piss off your opponent by dancing behind your minion wave, using emotes or showing badge to prevent yourself from taking unnecessary harass because of last-hitting minions. I want to stay healthy as much as possible to be able for me to perform mission 2.
Also, it's ok to lose cs than die as long as you get experience. In the mid to late game, you will be surprised that your cs is higher than any champion in the game without having to rely on your terrible last-hitting skill. XD.
MISSION #2: Look for all-ins/ Force Trades every siege/cannon minion wave.
This is where the action kicks in. The first cannon wave will decide what decision will I take in the next seconds of the game. Most of the time, I get first blood in games because of this. If not, the enemy will take so much damage or the enemy will be force to recall.
You might be thinking about flinging the enemy under your turret will do the trick but I'm gonna tell you that it won't work even if you're against the dumbest player in the League.
There is a more specific, more successful way I go for all-ins. Since I let the 1st and 2nd wave push towards my tower, the enemy cannon minion wave should crash/nearly crash under my turret. In this position, the enemy is required to last hit minions near my turret range. I used this "window" of opportunity to look for a force trades. This is how I engage on the enemy champion:
  • First, I send an attack-input command on the enemy champion.
  • Then, I hover my mouse at the enemy minion nearby.
  • I press Smite at the same time to activate "Nimbus Cloak" that will give me hell burst of movement speed to get into the enemies position before they could even react.
  • I throw my "W - Mega Adhesive" at the back of my champion and flings enemy towards the tower. It will root and slows the enemy, enough to make their lifebar disappear or if not, put them into a bad spot. Enemies inside mega adhesive won't be able to use their flash/escape ability since it disables any movement abilities.
  • If I failed to kill the enemy, I just let the wave push once again and I setup a gank for my jungler; or if my jungler doesn't recognize the gank I setup for him, then I'll just repeat mission 2 'til I hit level 6.
MID TO LATE GAME
This is where I get proactive in the game. After I have access to my ultimate, I push my lane while harassing the enemy at the same time with my poison. After I get mid priority, I use my tempo to look for roams on the side lanes, getting a deep vision for my team, helping my jungler take down an objective or steal enemy jungler's camp at his own jungle using my Smite. If my Ghost is down, I use Smite as an alternative to give me a hell lot of burst speed. Also, your Smite can be used to steal/secure objectives.
Yea. That's all for now. What do you think of my strat and my wave manipulation? I want to hear your crazy ideas in the comment section. See ya soon at my next post!
